A DAY IN THE LIFE
Working with the First Team at Stockport County means being right at the centre of elite performance every day. It’s fast-paced, detail-driven, and all about supporting the players and coaching staff to perform at their best.
A typical day might include:
- Preparing training environments and ensuring everything is ready to go
- Supporting coaching staff with session delivery and logistics
- Coordinating player schedules, travel, and matchday operations
- Working closely with medical, sports science, and analysis teams
- Managing equipment, kit, and training setup standards
- Helping ensure smooth communication across the First Team environment

Roles supporting First Team operations
Enabling high-performance environments through preparation, coordination, and day-to-day support of the First Team.
PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the health, fitness, and recovery of the first team squad. Your responsibilities will include:
- Injury Prevention & Treatment: Assessing, diagnosing, and managing player injuries to ensure a safe and effective return to play.
- Rehabilitation Programs: Designing and implementing tailored rehabilitation plans for injured players, working closely with medical and coaching staff.
- Pre-Match & Post-Match Care: Providing pre-game treatments such as taping, massage, and warm-ups, as well as post-match recovery strategies.
- Medical Assessments & Monitoring: Conducting regular screenings and fitness assessments to track player health and reduce injury risks.
- Emergency Pitchside Care: Delivering immediate first aid and acute injury management during training sessions and matchdays.
COACHES

DATA ANALYSTS
Use cutting-edge data and performance insights to support tactical decisions, enhance player development, and give the squad a competitive edge on matchdays. This is your chance to bring football and analytics together at the highest level.
- Analyse Match & Training Data – Gather and interpret key performance metrics to provide valuable insights for coaches and players.
- Support Tactical Decision-Making – Use data to assess opposition strengths, weaknesses, and game patterns, helping shape match strategies.
- Monitor Player Performance – Track player movement, passing accuracy, and physical output to optimise fitness and effectiveness.
- Video & Performance Analysis – Combine statistical insights with match footage to highlight key areas for improvement and tactical adjustments.
- Work Closely with Coaching Staff – Present reports and visualisations that ensure data-driven decisions influence training and match preparations.
SECURITY
Part of our First Team Security team and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of players, staff, and supporters. This is your chance to be at the heart of matchday operations, protecting the club and its people while being part of an exciting football environment.
- Ensure Player & Staff Safety – Provide security for players, coaches, and officials during training sessions, matchdays, and team travel.
- Manage Stadium & Training Ground Security – Monitor access points, conduct safety checks, and enforce security protocols.
- Support Matchday Operations – Assist with crowd management, liaise with stewards, and respond to security incidents as needed.
- Escort Players & Staff – Oversee safe entry and exit from the stadium, training facilities, and team transport.
- Work with Law Enforcement & Club Officials – Coordinate with police, emergency services, and club management to ensure a secure environment.
